Beaumaris – 3193Beaumaris is located 20 km south of the CBD. Located on Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne's south. Beaumaris is an affluent primarily residential suburb. Beaumaris features part of the Royal Melbourne Golf Course Beaumaris Reserve and Ricketts Point while a park system straddles the suburb's foreshore.
Mentone – 3194Mentone is located 21 km south-east of the CBD. Located in Melbourne's south Mentone is a mixed use bayside suburb. The suburb features significant commercial areas centred around the Mentone railway station while some industrial areas occupy the north. Like a number of suburbs in this part of Melbourne the population has decreased and aged significantly over the 1981-1996 period. The suburb is also comprised of mainly one and two person households. The City of Kingston council offices are based at Mentone.
Highett – 3190Highett is located 17 km south of the CBD. Traversed by the Nepean Highway and the Frankston railway line Highett is a residential and industrial suburb in Melbourne's south. The large proportion of Highett's population (23%) is concentrated in the age groups 60+ and many households are comprised of one and two person households.

The suburb is primarily residential with open reserves lining the foreshore in the west. The City of Bayside municipal offices are located in Sandringham. The suburb also features a commercial district around the Sandringham railway terminus as well as a major Boat Harbour and Marina and health care facilities such as the Sandringham & District Memorial Hospital and the Fairway Nursing Home.
Cheltenham – 3192Cheltenham is located 19 km south-east of the CBD. Cheltenham is a major residential commercial and industrial centre in Melbourne's south. The commercial focus of the suburb is based at Southland Shopping Centre and around the Cheltenham railway station although the suburb is also noteworthy for being the location of Moorabbin Airport and nearby Direct Factory Outlets shopping centre. Cheltenham also features a number of golf courses including the Victoria Cheltenham and parts of the Sandringham Municipal and the Royal Melbourne Golf Clubs.
Werribee – 3030Werribee is located 30 km south-west of the CBD situated on the Werribee River approximately halfway between Melbourne and Geelong on the Princes Highway. Werribee is the second-largest suburb in Wyndham. It is one of the oldest most established areas of Wyndham first settled over 150 years ago. Significant growth in Werribee occurred in 1960 and continues today. Werribee features Eagle Stadium Werribee Park Precinct Chirnside Park and Spendthrift Australia Park home of the Internationals during the Melbourne Cup Carnival. For transport Werribee railway station is located on the Werribee line and the Warrnambool line.
Parkdale – 3195Parkdale is located 22 km south-east of the CBD. Parkdale is a bayside suburb located in Melbourne's south. The suburb is principally residential with significant tracts of open space. Parkdale is traversed by the Frankston railway line and the Nepean Highway. The suburb also features the Parkdale Plaza Como Private Hospital and the Parkdale Life Saving Club.
Seddon – 3011Seddon is located 6 km west of the CBD. Residents of the suburb are well served by the Seddon Railway station and bus services running through the area. The neighbourhood is primarily residential in nature although there are areas of light commercial activity. Seddon features Harris Reserve and the nearby Victoria University - Footscray Nicholson Campus.
Ocean Grove – 3226Ocean Grove is the largest town on the Bellarine Peninsula covering about 20 square kilometres to the east of the Barwon River mouth. It enjoys the whole range of river and ocean activities. More and more residents commute to Geelong and the relative number of holiday homes has declined but Ocean Grove is still a thriving holiday resort.
Melbourne – 3000The CBD is Melbourne's business and financial centre home to a wide range of retail, financial, administralitve and entertainment services. Federation Square is Melbourne's major public square hosting arts and cultural events and is home to the Ian Potter Centre and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image. To the east are Olympic Park and Melbourne Park that host a variety of sporting and entertainment events.
Brighton East – 3187Brighton East is located 12 km south of the CBD. Brighton East is a primarily residential area in Melbourne's south. The suburb contains some commercial areas such as those along the Nepean Highway. The population is generally comprised of older affluent families but there are also large numbers of elderly in Brighton East reflecting the historic development of the suburb and a number of nursing homes and aged care facilities. Brighton East also features the Brighton Municipal Golf Club and Landcox Park.
Mordialloc – 3195Mordialloc is located 25 km south-east of the CBD. Mordialloc is a bayside suburb in Melbourne's south. The western part of Mordialloc is residential with a significant commercial centre along Nepean Hwy. The central part of the suburb (incorporating Braeside) is generally industrial with the large Braeside Park in the east. The suburb also incorporates the Woodlands and Southern Golf Clubs and the former Epsom Training Track which is currently being redeveloped for housing.
Footscray – 3011Footscray is located 6 km west of the CBD and bounded by the Maribyrnong River in the east. The suburb has a combination of residential industrial and commercial land. Its retail activity is centred on Barkly Street. Footscray features Whitten Oval Victoria University a major rail junction for a number of railway lines Footscray Hospital Footscray Market Heavenly Queen Temple and Footscray Park.
Newtown – 3220The Barwon River runs around Newtown and several large reserves that contain playing fields sporting clubs wetlands and a bicycle/walking track are beside it. There are hundreds of beautiful Victorian and Edwardian houses and several historic mansions including Barwon Grange west of the river. Newtown neighbours the established Queens Park golf course in the west and Kardinia Park to the east. The suburb boasts some of the city's finest schools - The Geelong College Sacred Heart College and St Joseph's College - and several excellent shopping centres.
