Locks

• Ask about changing the locks if you are uncomfortable about past tenants having keys, however make sure the landlord has a copy of the new key.

Is the area right for me?

• Make sure to check if the area is not only safe and your preferred distance to public transport and shops, but also be aware of near constructions sites and parking availability.

Pre-existing damage

• It’s vital that you document all pre-existing damage. Not only will it ensure the landlord stays on top of maintenance issues but also that the cost of repairing the damage does not come out of your bond.
