We’re drawing closer to the anticipated Block auction and on Sunday 30 October the former 1920s soap factory in Port Melbourne was open to the public and attracted around 10,000 fans who all wanted a glimpse of the renovated apartments.

We’re proudly throwing our support behind Perth couple Dan and Carleen, and with our Director of Hodges Brighton Julian Augustini as their auctioneer, we are looking forward to helping the baby boomers get more come auction night. Julian has acted as their mentor throughout the season and he recently spoke with the Real Estate Conversation about the advice he offered the couple to ensure they renovate to their demographic and attract buyers.

Hodges have also been holding open for inspections leading up to the auction and there’s been keen buyer interest in the apartment. Feedback has been particularly positive, especially around the couple’s approach to creating a beautiful contemporary apartment with an art deco influence in keeping with the heritage-listed building. We had 12 of our staff there on the weekend managing the Hodges marquee and taking people through Dan and Carleen’s apartment.

The art deco style apartments are expected to fetch between $1.8 million and $2.2 million when they go under the hammer later this month. The excitement is building and The Block has been a wonderful experience for the Hodges team. Make sure you tune into the final weeks of The Block and the upcoming auction!
