Last weekend’s auction of 47 Baird St in Brighton East created quite a stir amongst interested punters and property media after it  quickly exceeded the vendor’s asking price and sold for $1,873,000 – the weekend’s biggest property sale in Bayside.

With a crowd of 75 in attendance, Hodges auctioneer Sam Paynter was rewarded with a genuine starting bid of $1,770,000 within just seconds of finishing his preamble, followed by vigorous bidding from four interested parties.
