The Age took five with Hodges Sandringham Director, Paul Bond, over the weekend. Herewith, the results.
What has been the most exciting property you have sold?
I sold a property in Sandringham a few years back with a reserve of $1.37 million. The property sold for well over $1.8 million and, as a result, the vendors were able to upgrade without any mortgage.
Which areas in the Melbourne market are expecting growth this year?
Bayside properties will continue to experience growth this year.
How do you handle a vendor who thinks their home is worth more than it is?
Education is key. We are normally able to then work together and get the best possible outcome. What is one myth about the real estate market you would like to see busted?
Have you ever heard anyone say, ‘‘Agents don’t work hard for their commission, they simply rely on advertising?’’
This couldn’t be more untrue among my colleagues – a lot of work goes into contacting buyers, educating people and trying to find a buyer without advertising.
