Spice up your décor this Autumn

Autumn presents an abundance of aesthetically appealing potential to add to your furnishings. The seasonal transition brings a change in temperature, colour palette as well as a tendency to spend more time indoors so it’s a great chance to update your décor to match and reflect this beautiful season.

Flowers and Foliage

Adding natural aspects that represent the outside surroundings immediately link your décor to the seasonal change. Fresh flowers and foliage in natural tones can easily be placed as a finishing touch in every room, creating a theme throughout your home that represents Autumn. Consider a dried flower bouquet, dried foliage, pinecones or a dried wheat wreath carefully displayed to give character and a feeling of festivity for your guests.

Rich Tones

Autumn nature brings rich dusty tones of orange, red, yellow and saturated greenery. Take advantage of this rich Autumn colour palette and utilise it to embellish your home in the areas where cosiness is essential in the cooler months.

Create Warmth

As we transition into Winter there is nothing more appealing and inviting than a cosy home that embodies warmth. A roaring fire place makes a great feature for a room so ensure the furniture is set up around this. Consider an outdoor fireplace at the centre of your outdoor entertaining area. Alternatively, if you don’t have a fireplace, create a candle display for intimacy that will create the illusion of warmth in a space.

Keep it Cosy

Nothing says ‘home’ like soft furnishings that make you want to cuddle up with a hot chocolate or a glass of red. Use cushions, throws and blankets in rich autumnal colours or earthly tones to embellish your furniture while creating a festive warmth. Use aromas that have autumnal connotations such as cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin pie and cloves.
