Bayside has been the place to be at the start of summer with buyers flocking to auctions over the last few sunny weekends. Hodges agents reported great results, with media chomping at the bit to cover it.

On the weekend, two properties sold by the Sandringham office were featured in the Herald Sun. Angus Graham sold 18 Donald Street, Highett for $100,000 over reserve. The four-bedroom and two-bathroom 631sq m home stirred up competition with five bidders and ended up selling for $1.8 million. Over in Hampton, 6 Earlsfield Road sold for $2.14 million and was just shy of $200,000 over reserve.

A four-bedroom house at 27 Arthur Street, Sandringham, sold $185,000 above reserve with its $2,485,000 price tag on Saturday, via Hodges agent Stephen Wigley. It was reported on via news.com.au. Four bidders competed for the property, which sold to a young Moonee Ponds couple who had been drawn by its 800sq m block, proximity to the beach, period details and pool.

The weekend prior, 7 Glenmore Crescent in Black Rock sold by Steve Wigley in Sandringham went for a whopping $505,000 over reserve and was featured in the Herald Sun (and syndicated to Perth Now). A family bought the beach side property for $2.105 million and plan to demolish the existing brick house to build their dream home.

Two other properties sold by the Sandringham and Brighton office; 6 Earlsfield Rd, Hampton (Angus Graham) and 152A Cochrane St, Brighton (Julian Augustini), were featured in news.com.au, both of which were almost a huge $200,000 over reserve. Angus also sold 18 Donald Street, Highett for $1,8 million, $100,000 over the reserve.

Realestate.com.au reported on the sale of a historic beachfront home in Sandringham by Hodges that Director Paul Bond said went for well above $3.5 million. The circa-1910 property at 115 Beach Rd, is the largest land holding in Sandringham at 1854sq m and was the first beachfront kiosk where beachgoers went to buy their ice creams. After that, the site became Strathdene kennels. The large property includes the main house in original condition and multiple dwellings and outbuildings. The large and intriguing home attracted much attention, with 70 people at the auction.

Over in Highett, Hodges Property Consultant Angus Graham sold a single-level gem over reserve and was featured in news.com.au. The three-bedroom room at 56 Lawson Parade set on a 680sqm corner block, sold for $1.375 million on a $1.34 million reserve. Angus also sold 18 Donald Street, Highett for $1.8 million, which had five bidders and was $100,000 over reserve.
