Despite the lower clearance rate recorded the weekend before last, Hodges experienced another exceptional weekend of sales this weekend just gone.

Of the highlights, Hodges director Campbell Cooney sold 37 Service Street Hampton – a 5 bed timber Edwardian for $2,787,500; a whopping $187, 500 above the vendor’s minimum as reported by Stephen Cooper from The Age.

The Herald Sun’s forecast of “fireworks” at the Service street auction was well and truly on the money, with Hodges’ aggressive marketing campaign successfully attracting over 100 people on auction day.

With Campbell Cooney behind the hammer, excitement levels were at fever pitch; the winning bid going to a buyers advocate following serious competition from two other contenders.

Meanwhile, as reported here on news.com.au, 12 Higinbotham St, Brighton sold on Saturday for $2.6 million far exceeding its price guide of $2.2 million to $2.45 million. A terrific result for new Hodges recruit Danny Corcoran at his maiden auction as an accredited real estate agent. There were three-registered bidders at the auction of the four-bedroom house, which has a home office, a swimming pool and a walled breakfast courtyard.
