What an exciting grand finale of The Block 2016. We couldn’t be happier for Perth couple Dan and Carleen and we popped the champagne to celebrate their auction result.

After 12 weeks of hard work Dan and Carleen’s Port Melbourne apartment went for $2.3 million under the hammer of Hodges Brighton Director, Julian Augustini. Dan and Carleen’s reserve was $1.8 million (minus the couple’s $25,000 in winnings), which meant the baby boomer couple pocketed $525,000 and came third overall in the competition.

Julian did us proud as Dan and Carleen’s agent and auctioneer, using his years of experience to get a great result for the couple. He worked the crowd, reminded them of the unique style of Dan and Carleen’s apartment, and encouraged a final bid that was 30% over the reserve.

Hodges has had a great experience supporting Dan and Carleen throughout this season of The Block. They have shown resilience and we have enjoyed advising and helping them along the way.

The Block grand finale was watched by over 2.1 million viewers across Australia with Hodges showing the nation how they help their clients get more.

To Dan and Carleen, congratulations again from the team at Hodges!
