The weekend just gone was one of the biggest of the year for auctions in Melbourne.

In an article in Saturday’s Herald Sun, Nathan Mawby wrote that no less than 1320 properties were expected to go under the hammer over the weekend. And this trend is tipped to continue with preliminary figures from the Real Estate Institute of Victoria indicating there will be 3990 auctions over the next three weekends — before the number falls to just 40 for the Easter long weekend. In Nathan’s commentary about the week’s movers and shakers, Hodges private sale of 12 Wallace Grove in Brighton (pictured below) for $2.655 million was referenced as one of the top private sales.

An article in Sunday’s Age Newspaper by Stephen Cooper commented on the ‘outstanding results’ from the day prior and highlighted Hodges’ sale of 3 Were St in Brighton, with Julian Augustini as Auctioneer, as punching above it’s weight at a sale price of $1.21 million, after being put on the market at $1.12 million.

Meanwhile, the Baird St Buzz continues with another writeup covering the prior week’s auction of 47 Baird St in Saturday’s Herald Sun.
