In an article in Your Mortgage last Monday, Hodges Beaumaris Director Michael Cooney discussed how real estate agents are bracing themselves for the continued surge of late-winter auctions.

This surge has been expected and has been rising since May, however it is bigger than predicted with more than 1000 auctions last weekend and more than 980 auctions scheduled for this weekend.

“The appraisals have been increasing each week, and today the numbers out at open-for-inspections were double or triple what we were expecting,” states Michael Cooney.

This surge can be attributed to local families wanting to upgrade. We are thrilled by the high amount of homes being auctioned off this winter.
