It’s that time of year where the sun is getting warmer, the days are getting slightly longer and it’s time to tackle the renovations you’ve been thinking about all winter. Whether it’s to freshen up your home or increase your home’s selling value.

Whatever your reasons for sprucing up the home, we know it’s not always an easy task. In fact, it can be quite a stressful undertaking.

We’ve seen a great example of this on the current season of The Block. It’s only early on in the season but you can see the pressure on couples to renovate rooms in a short timeframe, incorporate the art deco styling of the building, and ultimately reveal a finished room for judging.

Although The Block is a reality TV show, the challenges are the same for many renovators (without cameras in our faces and with more sleep, hopefully). This is where it pays to plan, and get support and advice early on.

Like baby boomer couple Carleen and Dan, who’ve had a challenging few weeks, they are making good progress, and have outsourced help and sought advice. Including the likes of Greville Pabst from WBP Property Group as seen on last night’s show. We’re proud to say that Hodges is throwing their support behind the Perth duo and helping the couple get more, with one of our Directors Julian Augustini to soon be named as their auctioneer.

Stay tuned into The Block to see how the couples get on with their sales in Port Melbourne. We’re cheering on Carleen and Dan and we look forward to following their progress.

Remember, if these guys can do it in 12 weeks, you can definitely do it in a far more relaxed timeframe. Especially with the right help and advice.
